Comparing Solids That Roll with Solids That Stack - Students investigate which of the 20 solids roll and which stack. After the experiment is over, students will learn that some solids fit into both categories. Students will then use the computer to record their results by dragging the objects into the correct category. There will be a discussion about what these shapes have in common.
Reading
Cut and Paste Reading Activity - Using the template, students will cut the words and paste them into the correct text boxes.
Kindergarten Literacy Center Ideas For The Computer - Once students have become familiar with using the mouse and keyboard, it is important to provide them with opportunities to practice their skills and learn from computer activities rather than “play a game.” The lessons will provide students with activities, which make thematic connections and opportunities to reinforce their literacy skills. Activities designed for thematic units in Kindergarten should involve the students in multiple opportunities to learn key concepts in various ways. Students will have opportunities to listen to stories, predict outcomes, and make connections to the story.
